See your paint in context

Buying paint is naturally a visual experience, it's also one of the most subjective and personal choices we can make in our homes.

When you go to a DIY store to buy paint you are faced with multiple aisles of paint tins with just a small sticker showing the colour, stacked on top of one another. Product listing pages on the website have this same effect; perfect for those who already know exactly what they are buying, but completely overwhelming for those who don't.

Goal:To improve the experience of shopping for paint on Wickes.co.uk

That's where our tool comes in; it does the finding for you. All you need to do is input the colour you want and away you go.

How can we adopt a 'colour first' approach to online paint shopping?

Key UX Features

Lighting Preview: Unlike any other tools of this nature, we let customers see the differences in colour in both daylight and tungsten lighting, building confidence in their choices.

Customisable lifestyle images: The content within the tool is made up of a wide variety of carefully curated CGI room images, offering the customer a choice of rooms to help visualise their paint project. Every room has been cleverly layered by the software, allowing customers to preview the changing wall colours directly in their browser with zero loading time.
